a. Cupboards, Shelves And Cabinets: Some households have modern kitchen and pantry that are equipped with kitchen cupboards, cabinets and shelves for storage of crockery, cooking utensils and Foods in tightly-covered plastic containers.
The cupboards, shelves and cabinets are often made of painted or vanished woods. They may or may not be fixed to the kitchen walls.
b. Air-tight Containers: These containers can be made from plastic bottles or tin materials. The lids must be air-tight and fit well.
Different food items such as grains (beans, maize-flour, yam-flour) as well as spices (pepper, salt, condiments, etc.) can be Stored in the air-tight containers.
c. Refrigerators and Freezers: Refrigerators and Freezers are used to store Perishable foods. This is because the bacteria or micro-organisms which cause food spoilage are generally inactive under very cold condition.
